![]() All the others are progressing slowly but surely. I'm just now breaking level 10 on my beams research, and that's the highest research level I have for anything. I also have a number of respec tokens (I haven't used a single one since I joined STO two months ago), so I can definitely use those if needed too.Ä«uying straight antiprotons isn't really feasible as I neither have the dilithium, EC or crafting ability to pump those out. I don't run into too many problems running that many beams with my cruiser ability and power settings optimized for weapons, but I know there is improvement to be made in the loadout and even the skills I have my officers trained in. And the reason for the Covariant shield is because everything I've read the last few weeks said that capacity is king over regen rate on a cruiser, and my Reman Covariant is the best I've got in terms of capacity. Just got the Kinetic Cutting Beam yesterday, it definitely helps. ![]() I've heard that having the Omega tech is the best way to go (with shields, engines, etc). Here is the skill planner link so you can take a look: However, having a good, decent cruiser that can take punishment and not roll over during a fight while still outputting as much damage helps me be a useful support player. Yes, I know- Escorts are best for a Fed Tac captain like me- high DPS, better manueverability, and to that end I am working on saving up enough Zen/converting dilithium to get a MVAM Prometheus, and then buy its fleet version. Now that I've reached lvl 60, I'm trying to determine what is worth my time to seek out and/or craft to have a good PVE DPS tank. So I haven't been able to yet purchase a new (or upgraded) version of any ship, but I do have my Sovereign Assault Cruiser (not upgraded/fleet version) which I have been using since I got it.
